Artist selection for Devonport Jazz is based on artistic excellence, and stylistic balance within the context of each year’s program.
Assessment of artists is an ongoing process, although the majority of the program is negotiated and booked between September and February for following festival.
Owing to the volume of enquiries received, it is not possible to return material submitted.
Devonport Jazz receives many more submissions than we can program. The festival is committed to presenting a wide and varied line-up and we are continually faced with hard choices involving artists we would love to book but simply don’t have space for. This in no way signifies a lack of appreciation for their work, experience or talent.
